Texoma is a northern Texas AVA covering parts of Cooke, Fannin, Grayson and Montague counties.
Although its name evokes the Texas-Oklahoma border, the established Texoma AVA is entirely in Texas. That distinction avoids assigning a second state to its wine-growing boundary. The region is associated with grape breeder T. V. Munson. The reviewed growers’ account identifies Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Grenache and Chardonnay as regional plantings without providing a current acreage census.
