Dundee Hills is a raised landmass within Willamette Valley, southwest of Portland.
Dundee Hills rises above the surrounding valley floors and is sheltered by nearby ranges. It receives less cooling from the ocean and Columbia Gorge than many other parts of Willamette Valley. Red volcanic Jory soils, formed from basalt, are a defining feature. The documented grape mix includes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. Its hills, soils and relative shelter make this a specific origin within the larger Willamette Valley appellation.
