Dry Creek Valley is a narrow Sonoma County AVA with vineyards on its floor, benchlands and hillsides.
Dry Creek Valley concentrates several vineyard landscapes within a relatively narrow valley. The floor, benches and adjoining hills offer different exposures and growing sites. Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon are documented regional varieties. This is a distinct Sonoma appellation, so a Dry Creek Valley label gives a more specific geographical origin than Sonoma County alone. Individual wines can still reflect different vineyard positions and winemaking choices.
