Free Sommelier Exam Prep: Practice Tests & Study Guides

Free Court of Master Sommeliers practice exams, flashcards, study guides, and an interactive deductive tasting grid. 160 questions, no sign-up, unlimited retakes.

Sommelier exam prep has a strange gap in it. The Court of Master Sommeliers publishes a syllabus and a reading list, and everything else is either a paid exam lab or a PDF someone scanned in 2014. There is no free, interactive place to find out whether you actually know Chablis’ grand cru climats or the aging minimums for Rioja Gran Reserva.

So we built one. Every tool below is free, works in the browser, needs no account, and can be retaken as often as you like. The question banks are ours, written to test the same body of knowledge the exams test, and every answer comes with an explanation rather than a bare tick.

Two tiers are covered today. The Introductory tools assume you are starting out: broad recall across the classic regions, the principal grapes, the main spirits categories, and the fundamentals of service. The Certified tools assume you have passed Introductory and are now being asked for appellation law, classification detail, and the reasoning behind a style.
