i.Why is it so much cheaper than other wine apps?+
Because Sommo's wine-tuned AI is built and owned by us, not rented by the query. That keeps costs predictable, while an independent one-person company keeps everything else lean. The savings stay in the price.
ii.Is the AI a generic chatbot behind a wine logo?+
No. Sommo runs on proprietary wine-tuned AI built and owned by Sommo. Scanning, pairing, drinking windows, palate analysis, and WSET grading are grounded against a maintained wine library rather than relying on one generic chat prompt. The plain-language version is on Under the Hood.
iii.Does the AI hallucinate?+
Less than a generic chatbot would. Every recommendation is checked against a hand-maintained wine library, so the wineries Sommo names are wineries that actually exist. Yes. On iPhone and iPad it's Apple's Family Sharing; on Android, Google Play's Family Library does the same. Either way your subscription reaches up to five family members at no extra cost.
vii.Is there a web version or Android app?+
Both. A native Android app, a full port of the iPhone version with the same wine-tuned AI, cellar, journal, and WSET suite, is on Google Play now. And the web app runs at web.sommo.app: sign in with the same account and your cellar, journal, palate, and WSET progress are all there in the browser. One Premium subscription covers every platform.
viii.Do you train your model on my journal?+
No. Your tasting notes power your own wine character analysis only. They are not used to retrain the public model, sold to third parties, or shared with anyone outside the app. The base model is trained on public wine corpora (Wine Enthusiast reviews, Wikipedia, food-pairing datasets), not user data.
ix.Do you sell my data?+

x.How do I request a refund?+
Through the store you bought it from. On iPhone and iPad that's Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com); on Android it's Google Play. Both policies are generous and Sommo won't try to talk you out of it.
