Xynisteri is a white grape variety, with its roots in Pitsilia, Cyprus.

The wines show medium body, no tannin, high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to lemon, peach, white plum, fruit and nuts.

It is planted most seriously in Pitsilia.

In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, moderate vigour and a preference for cooler temperatures at higher altitudes.

It blends readily with Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
