Vidadillo (Crespiello) is a red grape variety, with its roots in Cariñena, Spain.
The wines show full body, medium-high tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to red fruit, violet, licorice, spice, herb and balsamic.
It is planted most seriously in Cariñena.
In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening and vigorous vigour.
On other labels it goes by Vidadillo de Almonacid, Garnacha Basta, Garnacha de Grano Gordo and Romero.
At the table it suits roasted leg of lamb with garlic, moroccan tagine and meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce.
