It is planted most seriously in Colline Novaresi, Gattinara and Oltrepò Pavese.

In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening and low vigour.

It blends readily with Nebbiolo and Croatina.

On other labels it goes by Ughetta, Uvetta di Canneto, Nespolina and Balsamina.
