Touriga Franca is a red grape variety, with its roots in Douro, Portugal.

The wines show medium body, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to blackberry, plum, cherry, floral, spice and herbal.

It is planted most seriously in Douro and Alentejano IG.

In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, high vigour and a preference for warm.

It blends readily with Castelão.
