Touriga Franca - Touriga Nacional is a red blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Douro, Portugal.

The wines show medium-full body, medium-high tannin, medium acidity, dry and high alcohol.

The tasting note runs to mulberry, berry, plum, heady and vibrant.

It is planted most seriously in Douro, Dao and Lisboa.

In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, medium vigour and a preference for warm sites.

It blends readily with Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cao.
