Tinta Francisca is a red grape variety, with its roots in Douro, Portugal.

The wines show light body, low tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to raspberry, cherry, floral and herbal.

It is planted most seriously in Douro.

In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, low vigour and a preference for moderate.

It blends readily with Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz.
