Timorasso is a white grape variety, with its roots in Piedmont, Italy.

The wines show full body, no tannin, high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to tropical fruit, floral and aromatic.

It is planted most seriously in Colli Tortonesi.

In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, thick-skinned vigour and a preference for southeast piedmont.

It blends readily with Moscato Bianco and Favorita.

On other labels it goes by Morasso and Derthona.

At the table it suits chicken sautéed with garlic and tomato, hoisin duck pancakes and spaghetti carbonara.
