Syrah - Tempranillo is a red blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Commonly blended in Spain and Portugal, Spain.
The wines show full body, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to ripe berry, cherry, currant, dark fruits, black pepper and licorice.
It is planted most seriously in Spain and Portugal.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening.
It blends readily with Grenache and Touriga Nacional.
On other labels it goes by Syrah - Tempranillo.
At the table it suits spicy chorizo and chickpea stew, marinated, barbequed beef strips and lamb cutlets with roasted beets.
