Skrlet is a white grape variety, with its roots in Kontinentalna Hrvatska, Croatia.
The wines show light body, no tannin, high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to quince, green apple, newly cut hay and herbal.
It is planted most seriously in Pokuplje, Prigorje-Bilogora and Moslavina.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, moderate vigour and a preference for continental.
On other labels it goes by Skrlet.
At the table it suits kaffir-lime wrapped chicken skewers, quiche with caramelized onion and pan-fried snapper with asparagus spears.
