Pinot Blanc is a white grape variety, with its roots in Alsace, France.

The wines show medium body, no tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to apple, almond, spice and smokiness.

It is planted most seriously in Alsace, Alto Adige and Niederosterreich.

In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, relatively fruitful vigour and a preference for prefers a moderate climate with good sun exposure.

It blends readily with Auxerrois and Chardonnay.
