Palomino is a white grape variety, with its roots in Andalucia, Spain.

The wines show light-medium body, no tannin, low acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to nut, apple, melon, herbal and floral.

It is planted most seriously in Jerez, Canary Islands, California and South Africa.

In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, medium vigour and a preference for warm.

It blends readily with Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel de Alejandria.

On other labels it goes by Listán Blanco, Listán de Jerez, Listrão and Fransdurif.
