Nascetta is a white grape variety, with its roots in Piedmont, Italy.
The wines show medium body, no tannin, high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to apple, tropical fruit, citrus, honey, floral and muscat-like.
It is planted most seriously in Piedmont.
In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, difficult to cultivate and unpredictable in yield vigour and a preference for cooler climates.
On other labels it goes by Anascetta.
At the table it suits asparagus and mozzarella bake, grilled squid with lemon and garlic and seared scallops with fennel salad.
