Muscat Ottonel is a white grape variety, with its roots in Alsace, France.
The wines show light-medium body, no tannin, medium-low acidity, off-dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to floral, peach, apricot, citrus, honey and spice.
It is planted most seriously in Alsace, Burgenland and Romania.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, medium vigour and a preference for cool to moderate climates.
On other labels it goes by Muskat-Ottonel, Muskotaly and Tamaiioasa Ottonel.
At the table it suits steamed scallops (dry), crêpes and caramel cream (sweet) and lemon and honey semolina cake (sweet).
