The wines show medium body, no tannin, medium-low acidity, varies and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to citrus, melon, floral and spice.
It is planted most seriously in Piedmont, Beaumes-de-Venise, Rivesaltes and Frontignan.
In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, medium vigour and a preference for cool climates.
On other labels it goes by Moscato Bianco, Muscat Blanc, White Muscat and Moscatel de Grano Menudo.
At the table it suits shrimp ravioli (dry), lemon meringue tarts (sweet) and caramel slice (fortified).
