Muscaris is a white grape variety, with its roots in Palatinate, Germany.
The wines show medium body, medium tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to peach, pear, apple, floral, herbaceous and spicy.
It is planted most seriously in Sudsteiermark, Vulkanland Steiermark, Rheinhessen and Gelderland.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, high vigour and a preference for cool.
On other labels it goes by Muscat and Muscardin.
At the table it suits seafood, chicken, salads and light pastas.
