The wines show light-medium body, medium tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to cherry, blueberry and spiced.
It is planted most seriously in Aosta Valley.
In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening.
It blends readily with Petit Rouge.
