The wines show full body, medium-high tannin, medium acidity, sweet and high alcohol.

The tasting note runs to dried fruit, honey, spices, floral and herbal.

It is planted most seriously in Commandaria and Cephalonia.

In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, medium vigour and a preference for mediterranean.

It blends readily with Xynisteri.
