Marmajuelo is a white grape variety, with its roots in Canary Islands, Spain.
The wines show medium body, no tannin, high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to palm leaf, passionfruit, fig leaf and mineral.
It is planted most seriously in Ycoden-Daute-Isora, Gran Canaria and Tacoronte-Acentejo.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening and a preference for sandy island soils.
On other labels it goes by Bermejuela, Bermejo, Bermejudo and Vermejuelo.
At the table it suits anchoa y pisto bocadillos, salt-baked fish and papas arrugadas.
