Maratheftiko is a red grape variety, with its roots in Paphos, Cyprus.
The wines show medium-full body, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to coffee, chocolate and floral.
It is planted most seriously in Paphos.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening and vigorous vigour.

At the table it suits stewed rabbit with onions (stifado), braised lamb shoulder with roasted parsnips and eggplant stuffed with lamb and pinenuts.
