Manto Negro is a red grape variety, with its roots in Majorca, Spain.
The wines show medium body, medium tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to red berries, plums, cherries, earth, herbs and spice.
It is planted most seriously in Binissalem.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, medium vigour and a preference for mediterranean.
It blends readily with Callet.
On other labels it goes by Manto Negro.
At the table it suits botifarra negra, spicy chicken wings and macaroni cheese.
