Mansengs - Petit Courbu is a white blend rather than a single variety, and it traces back to South West, France.
Structurally it lands at medium body, no tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
Look for mango, baked pears, honeysuckle, citrus and green-apple.
The regions that matter for it are Irouléguy, Jurançon, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh and Saint-Mont.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, medium vigour and a preference for mild.
It blends readily with Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng.
Watch for the synonyms: Petit Courbu.
At the table it suits mussels cooked on an open fire, crispy vietnamese pancake with pork and smoked trout with watercress.
