Loureiro is a white grape variety, with its roots in Minho, Portugal.

The wines show light-medium body, no tannin, high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to orange, acacia blossom, floral and herbal.

It is planted most seriously in Vinho Verde and Rías Baixas.

In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, high cropping vigour and a preference for cool, maritime.

It blends readily with Albariño, Trajadura and Pederna.
