Liatiko is a red grape variety, with its roots in Crete, Greece.

The wines show medium body, medium tannin, medium acidity, off-dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to dark berries, cherry, fig, floral, spices and earth.

It is planted most seriously in Dafnes and Sitia.

In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, vigorous vigour and a preference for mediterranean.

It blends readily with Mandilaria.
