Hondarrabi Zuri is a white grape variety, with its roots in Basque Country, Spain.
The wines show light body, no tannin, high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to citrus, herbal and mineral.
It is planted most seriously in Txakoli de Getaria, Txakoli de Bizkaia and Txakoli de Álava.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, low vigour and a preference for cool coastal.
It blends readily with Folle Blanche, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc.
On other labels it goes by Hondarribi Zuri and Ondarribi Zuri.
At the table it suits marinated white anchovies (boquerones), glass noodles with chicken and sesame and peppers stuffed with tuna.
