Harslevelu is a white grape variety, with its roots in Tokaj, Hungary.
The wines show medium-full body, medium-low tannin, medium-high acidity, varies and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to honey, smoky, spicy, linden and elderflower.
It is planted most seriously in Tokaj and Somló.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, medium vigour and a preference for warm.
It blends readily with Furmint.
On other labels it goes by Lindenblattrige, Lipovina, Feuille de Tilleul and Frunaza de Tei.
At the table it suits chicken and paprika stew, salmon donburi and roquefort blue cheese.
