Garanoir is a red grape variety, with its roots in Vaud, Switzerland.
The wines show medium body, medium-low tannin, medium-low acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to red berries, black cherries, plums, floral, earthy and spicy.
It is planted most seriously in Vaud and Valais.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, high vigour and a preference for cooler.
It blends readily with Gamaret.
On other labels it goes by Pully B-28.
At the table it suits morel mushrooms in a white sauce, chicken and rice stew and seared tuna loin.
