Gamay - Pinot Noir is a red blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Burgundy, France.

The wines show light body, medium-low tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to raspberry, strawberry, cherry, sour cherry, cranberry and leather.

It is planted most seriously in Burgundy, Loire and Valais.

In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, moderate vigour and a preference for cool to moderate climate.

It blends readily with Gamay and Pinot Noir.

On other labels it goes by Dôle.
