Frappato is a red grape variety, with its roots in Sicily, Italy.

The wines show light body, low tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to cherry, raspberry, floral and herbal.

It is planted most seriously in Sicily.

In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, medium vigour and a preference for warm.

It blends readily with Nero d’Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Nocera.
