Fogoneu is a red grape variety, with its roots in Balearic Islands, Spain.

The wines show light-medium body, medium-low tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to red fruits, spices, floral and earthy.

It is planted most seriously in Mallorca.

In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, medium vigour and a preference for mediterranean.

It blends readily with Callet and Manto Negro.
