Fer Servadou

Fer Servadou is a red grape variety, with its roots in Marcillac, France.

The wines show medium body, medium-high tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to redcurrant, fig and pepper.

It is planted most seriously in Marcillac and Gaillac.

In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, moderate vigour and a preference for iron-rich, stony hills.

It blends readily with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Prunelard.

On other labels it goes by Pinenc, Mansois, Braucol and Caillaba.

At the table it suits beef rendang, duck confit and chicken enchiladas.
