Falanghina is a white grape variety, with its roots in Campania, Italy.
The wines show medium body, no tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to apple, pear, citrus blossom, bitter orange and pine.
It is planted most seriously in Campania, Abruzzo and Puglia.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, medium vigour and a preference for mediterranean.
On other labels it goes by Falanghina Greco, Fallanchina, Biancozita and Folanghina.
At the table it suits pizza with pear, walnuts and rocket, crispy orange beef with steamed broccoli and chicken thighs baked with red peppers.
