Edelzwicker Blend is a white blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Alsace, France.
The wines show medium body, no tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to peach, apricot, floral notes, fruity, floral and spice.
It is planted most seriously in Alsace.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, moderate vigour and a preference for cool to moderate.
It blends readily with Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Muscat and Pinot Blanc.
On other labels it goes by Edelzwicker.
At the table it suits bacon & onion tarte flambée, spicy thai beef salad and salt & pepper squid.
