Damaschino is a white grape variety, with its roots in Sicily, Italy.

The wines show light-medium body, no tannin, medium acidity, off-dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to fruity, straw and aromatic.

It is planted most seriously in Sicily.

In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, vigorous vigour and a preference for warm.

It blends readily with Catarratto.
