Corvinone is a red grape variety, with its roots in Veneto, Italy.
The wines show full body, medium-high tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to black cherry, plum, spice, earth, floral and herbal.
It is planted most seriously in Valpolicella.
In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, high vigour and a preference for moderate.
It blends readily with Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara.

At the table it suits beef and mushroom casserole, venison with blackcurrant sauce and sauteed pigs’ liver.
