Cinsault - Mourvedre - Syrah is a red blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Languedoc-Roussillon, France.
The wines show medium body, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to red berries, dark fruit, spice, black pepper and herbaceous notes.
It is planted most seriously in Languedoc-Roussillon and Southern Rhône Valley.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, medium vigour and a preference for warm climate.
It blends readily with Mourvèdre and Syrah.
On other labels it goes by Cinsaut.
At the table it suits bouillabaisse, duck noodle soup, marinated pork tenderloin and light white meats.
