Cinsault - Grenache is a red blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Southern France, France.
The wines show medium body, medium tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to raspberry, herbaceous, spicy and floral.
In the cellar it meets unoaked.
It is planted most seriously in Côtes de Provence and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, high-yielding vigour and a preference for mediterranean climate.
It blends readily with Syrah.

At the table it suits barbecued langoustine, tomato, cucumber and onion salad and lamb and eggplant koftas.
