Chardonnay - Verdelho is a white blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Hunter Valley, Australia.
The wines show medium-full body, no tannin, medium-high acidity, off-dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to citrus, tropical fruit, stone fruit, floral and herbal.
It is planted most seriously in Hunter Valley and Victoria.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, medium vigour and a preference for warm.
It blends readily with Chenin Blanc and Semillon.

At the table it suits porcini mushroom risotto with grana padano and caramelized lemon, chicken and mango salad with chili and lime dressing and baked salmon with kale and pinenuts.
