Chardonnay - Pinot Blanc - Pinot Noir is a wine blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Franciacorta, Italy.
The wines show medium body, no tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to green apple, pear, citrus, floral, toasty and nutty.
It is planted most seriously in Franciacorta and Alsace.
In the vineyard it is marked by mid ripening, medium vigour and a preference for moderate.
It blends readily with Macabeo, Savagnin and Pinotage.
