The wines show medium body, no tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to tropical melon, stonefruit, tropical fruit and white fruit.
It is planted most seriously in South West France, South Africa and Australia.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, moderate vigour and a preference for cool climates.
It blends readily with Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Semillon.
