Catarratto - Chardonnay is a white blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Sicily, Italy.

The wines show medium body, no tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.

The tasting note runs to citrus, stone fruit, herbaceous notes, floral, spicy and oak.

It is planted most seriously in Sicily.

In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, medium vigour and a preference for warm mediterranean climate.

It blends readily with Grillo and Inzolia.

On other labels it goes by Catarratto Chardonnay and Chardonnay Catarratto.

At the table it suits risotto with mushrooms and walnuts, citrus-marinated salmon with capers and spaghetti with olives, garlic and chilli.
