Callet is a red grape variety, with its roots in Mallorca, Spain.

The wines show light-medium body, medium-low tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and low alcohol.

The tasting note runs to raspberry.

It is planted most seriously in Mallorca.

In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, not mentioned vigour and a preference for warm mediterranean.

It blends readily with Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Syrah.

On other labels it goes by Callet Tinto and Callet Noir.

At the table it suits sobrassada (mallorcan cured sausage), chicken livers fried in butter and mushroom roulade.
