Caino Tinto is a red grape variety, with its roots in Galicia, Spain.
The wines show medium body, high tannin, medium acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to dark berries, plum, spice, earth, floral and herbal.
It is planted most seriously in Rias Baixas and Ribeiro.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, medium vigour and a preference for cool.
On other labels it goes by Borraçal, Caiño Gordo, Caiño Grande and Caiño Grosso.
At the table it suits pork with cumin, lemon and cilantro, roasted guinea fowl and manchego cheese.
