Cabernet - Malbec - Syrah is a red blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Mendoza, Argentina.

The wines show full body, medium-high tannin, medium acidity, dry and high alcohol.

The tasting note runs to plum, black cherry, blackberry, coffee, chocolate and mint.

It is planted most seriously in Mendoza, California and Langhorne Creek.

In the vineyard it is marked by late ripening, medium vigour and a preference for moderate to warm.

It blends readily with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Shiraz.
