The wines show medium body, medium tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to dark fruits, plum, blackberry, earth and spice.
It is planted most seriously in Dao, Bairrada and Douro.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening and a preference for dry, warm.
