Albarola - Bosco - Vermentino is a white blend rather than a single variety, with its roots in Ligurian Coast, Italy.
The wines show light-medium body, no tannin, medium-high acidity, dry and medium alcohol.
The tasting note runs to lemon rind, grapefruit, herbal, sage, lavender and honey.
It is planted most seriously in Cinque Terre.
In the vineyard it is marked by early ripening, medium vigour and a preference for coastal.
It blends readily with Vermentino and Bosco.
On other labels it goes by Albarola.
At the table it suits lemon-marinated anchovies, ligurian pesto pasta and fruitcake with raisins and pine nuts.
